In a recent announcement IDLife and Garmin International announced the formation of a strategic partnership. The basis of the partnership is the commitment both companies have to helping people lead healthier lives. At this point the partnership will proceed in three phases.
On June 1, 2017 IDLife customers will be able to purchase Garmin’s Vivo line of wearable activity trackers on the IDLife website, IDLife.com. Garmin Vivo wearables are intended to provide the wearer with data such as wrist-based heartrate at any point in time; like during workouts for instance. This enables the wearer to track heartrate for any given exercise.
In addition to Vivo trackers, IDLife customers will be able to purchase Garmin’s IndexTM Smart Scale. Garmin Smart Scales measure such things as weight, Body Mass Index, body fat percentage, and bone and muscle mass. The scales are able to track up to 16 different people and recognize each one who steps onto the scale. Garmin Smart Scales are able to connect via Wi-Fi.
The second phase of the partnership is the introduction of an IDLife mobile app which will capture data from a Garmin wearable device. This will enable the user access to his/her health metrics at any time.
The third phase will be the incorporation data from Garmin devises into IDLife’s activity and meal tracking platform. This will further automate tracking of everything from workouts to sleep to eating habits. According to Logan Stout, IDLife founder and CEO, IDLife wants to create not just a movement but a “way of being.”
